Galaxy Unpacked 2026 brought us a series of Samsung’s flagship devices including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, and Galaxy Watch 9 in London on July 22. Samsung also announced their upcoming Android XR-powered AI smart glasses debut, along with confirmation that Samsung manufactures the Exynos chipset seen in European Galaxy Folds.
The Galaxy line coming in 2023 are going to be sleeker than before, boast smarter AI capabilities, have better health tracking capabilities, and offer a more connected Galaxy ecosystem. Overall, consumers have a lot to be excited about heading into the fall.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Series
USP: lighter and smarter.
Samsung has claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the lightest foldable smartphone so far and that the phone has been redesigned to be thinner and easier to carry. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the first “Ultra” foldable smartphone from the South Korean tech giant. It is aimed at consumers who require top-tier performance, multitasking and AI features.
Both the devices are aimed at providing a tablet-like experience that is small enough for daily use and more.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8
USP: The Flip Experience Gets Refined
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is the latest phone to join the brand’s folding smartphone lineup and it feels quite familiar. it also brings AI-powered advances for the most common tasks, like photography, messaging and productivity.
The small size of its construction remains one of the biggest draws for users looking for flagship specs in a pocket-friendly device.
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9
USP: more focused on health than features.
Samsung announced the new Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9 smartwatches. The biggest highlight of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is the display which is said to reach 5,000 nits, making it easier to read even under bright sunlight. The improved battery life, upgraded fitness algorithms, and better health monitoring are some other upgrades.
India, however, foregoes an essential element. The Sleep Apnea Detection feature for some selected global markets isn’t available yet for India because of pending regulatory approvals.
Smart glasses
The upcoming smart glasses of Samsung along with Android XR are worth checking out. So far only previewed, the glasses are expected to provide hands-free navigation, real-time translation, notifications and AI assistance by connecting with Galaxy smartphones.
Many experts believe smart glasses are the next big wearables after smartwatches.

Most of Samsung’s new Galaxy products are set to launch globally on August 7, 2026. The AI smart glasses will be launching later this year. Taken as a whole, Galaxy Unpacked 2026 was Samsung’s largest hardware and AI-centric event of the year.
